# Twitter (X) Privacy Settings
Go to Settings & Support > Settings and privacy
## Your account

- Phone: Remove phone number if added
## Security and account access

- Two-factor authentication >
- Authenticator app > Get started > Scan the barcode using an authenticator app > Enter 6 digit code > Confirm > Save the backup code.
NOTE 1: Use a privacy respecting authenticator app. Check out [recommendations, alternatives & reviews](https://github.com/StellarSand/privacy-settings#recommendations-alternatives--reviews).
NOTE 2: The backup code is required to login, if 2FA method is lost, broken or unavailable. Keep this code somewhere safe, to prevent loss or unauthorized access. It can be stored in a password manager, in an encrypted note, or write it down somewhere safe.

#### Apps and sessions
- Connected Apps > Remove anything you don't use
## Privacy and safety
#### Audience, media and tagging
- Photo tagging: Only people you follow can tag you
#### Your posts
- Add location information to your posts >
- Add location information to your posts: Off
- Remove all location information attached to your posts > Delete
#### Direct messages
- Allow message requests from: No one (Your followers will still be able to message you)
- Allow audio and video calls from: People you follow (Only available in the app)
- Enhanced call privacy: On (Only available in the app)
- Show/send read receipts: Off
#### Spaces
- Allow followers to see which Spaces you're listening to: Off
#### Discoverability and contacts
- Let people who have your email find you on X: Off
- Let people who have your phone number find you on X: Off
- Manage contacts > Remove all contacts
#### Ads preferences
- Personalized ads: Off
#### Inferred identity
- Personalize based on your inferred identity: Off
#### Data sharing with business partners
- Allow additional information sharing with business partners: Off
#### Location information
- Personalize based on places you've been: Off
#### Grok
- Allow your posts as well as your interactions, inputs, and results with Grok to be used for training and fine-tuning: Off

Remove Location and Birth date from your bio or provide false info if you want.
Also remove any other personally identifiable info like phone numbers, emails etc. you might have added in your bio.
